Great Backyard Bird Count – February 16th at Victoria / Willow River Park

Meet up with bird team members for an easy morning of  bird watching and counting while we participate in The Great Backyard Bird Count!

When: February 16th at 9:30AM

Where: Victoria / Willow River Park, meet at the Victoria Park Pavillion  (accessible via the ION and GRT, parking is available at lot adjacent to the pavilion at the end of Schneider Ave.)

Spend time in your favourite places watching birds—then tell us about them! In as little as 15 minutes notice the birds around you. Identify them, count them, and submit your counts to help scientists better understand and protect birds around the world. If you already use eBird or Merlin, your submissions over the 4 days count toward GBBC.

We recommend downloading the mobile apps eBird and Merlin to your smart device prior to our meet up.

Bird Team members will be able to assist learning to use these digital birding tools but the outing is for the bird count and observation. We encourage participants to bring binoculars, scopes, cameras and good spirits. Participants are required to sign a waiver which will be on hand at the meetup and can be downloaded and printed here.
