Saving our Songbirds – presented by Cathy Hale of Kitchener’s Wild Birds Unlimited
May 18 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

Join us at Square Peg to learn and engage with Cathy Hale of Wild Birds Unlimited Kitchener as she teaches us the best practices people can do to save our songbirds.
With the loss of habitat being a huge cause for the population decline, it is important to stress that birds that feed in your yard are supplementing their diet of natural foods. Song birds will always forage and teach their young to forage for natural food first. The food we provide at our feeders gives them a boost of high protein and fats to help them survive. It is an “old wives tale” that we should not feed birds in the summer. Every season has good reasons to feed. The spring season to help birds stay nourished during nesting and summer the added protein helps when our birds are molting their feathers, to name just a couple. Save the Song Birds is Wild Birds Unlimited main initiative and to educate our community on what each individual can do to make a difference
